Charles Caldwell founded the company in 1990. In an environment where quality service was lacking and industry standards had continued to drop, Mr. Caldwell’s vision emerged. Both a leader and innovator, Mr. Caldwell believed in hiring the best from the very beginning.
Spurred by success and demand, Midlands expanded into the Texas market with the formation of Midlands Management of Texas. Midlands Management of Texas focused on successfully meeting agent and broker needs in the P&C market.
Midlands Claim Administrators, Inc. was created to provide claim administration and adjusting services to insurance companies and self-insured corporations.
American Agency System®, still in operation today, was created to promote and service products of workers’ compensation including accident & health insurance.
In 1998 Midlands continued to grow and diversify. Midlands Injury Management, Inc. was formed to provide licensed services including utilization review, vocational rehabilitation and medical case management.
Midlands Intermediaries, Inc. was created to handle the placement of reinsurance.
Midlands celebrated their 12th anniversary. Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Midlands Management Corporation was named as one of the fastest growing companies in the OKC Metro by the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce for five consecutive years.
2010 marked Midlands 20th Anniversary. The success achieved by Midlands Management Corporation was remarkable, and could be attributed to the dedication of its loyal employees and support from the marketplace.
Midlands Management Corp. completed the re-branding campaign and launched a new, modern and polished look. Propelled by growth, Midlands Management Corp. headquarters moved to a new, sky rise.
Midlands celebrated its 25 Year Anniversary in 2015. From 1990, formerly operating out of the trunk of Mr. Caldwell’s car to present day operating out of two office locations with a combined square footage of over 45,000 ft.
Midlands has established itself as a clear leader in the industry. Midlands added employees in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. Due to substantial growth and continued success Midlands Management Corp.’s Dallas office expanded into a brand new space.
Midlands is acquired by Safety National®.
Midlands divests Wholesale Brokerage and Binding Unit and Managing General Underwriter Units to Johnson & Johnson.
Midlands divests Specialty Claims Unit to Johnson & Johnson.
