Mr. Ottis joined Midlands in 1995. He leads all accounting related duties including financial reporting, implementation of internal controls, and tax returns for Midlands and its subsidiaries as well as providing guidance to HR, IT, and regulatory compliance managers. Prior to Midlands, Mr. Ottis worked independently for different clients within the insurance industry preparing annual and quarterly reports. Mr. Ottis also consulted with insurance companies regarding due diligence for acquisitions.

From 1984-1989, Mr. Ottis also worked for the Oklahoma Insurance Department as a Senior Financial Analyst. Along with supervising five CPA’s and four clerks, he analyzed financial data and reports to target insurance companies for field examination, reviewed information to detect insolvent insurers and ensure compliance with all state regulations and statutes. In 1985, he received his CPA certificate.
